We have quickly become fans of Canadian producer Dominic Pierce. He recently shared with us (and everyone else on SoundCloud) his short but sweet edit of Paul McCartney & Wings‘ “Goodnight Tonight.” It was based off an idea he had back in high school while toying around with the production software Fruity Loops. It’s been available for download on his website Close To Modern but only recently uploaded to his SoundCloud page. Absolutely beautiful.
We’ve been waiting for this one for some time now. LIFELIKE will release “Heatwave” on February 21st via his own label Computer Science. He was kind enough to give us a teaser to wet our appetites. Additionally, his forthcoming remix for the new Teenage Bad Girl single “Keep Up With You” due on February 14th is equally infectious. Check out that preview below as well as part of a mini mix for the release.
German producer, DJ, blog darling, and Twitter maven Justin Faust has crafted a spectacular mix here for all to enjoy. The latest and greatest from Kartel, Bag Raiders, Second City Rhythm, and Fare Soldi make an appearance. Quality stuff.

“Loving Someone Else” caught our attention last year when a preview was making the rounds along with a teaser for an EP of original material from DJ/production duo Vangaurd. Today it finally sees an official release on Kris Menace‘s label Work It Baby. It’s already garnered some steady radio play on Radio 1. Look for that to increase with the release. This should garner these fellas some attention for sure.
Heard this on Zane Lowe‘s show on Radio 1 the other night and absolutely fell in love. Not going to waste time trying to attach some sub genre tag to it. Its just really good. London producer Ben Ash crafted “Love You Up” under the guise of his side project Two Inch Punch. His sound is part funkadelic, part electro, part hip-hop, with a sprinkle of soul. One to keep an eye on this year.
Another amazing find via a recommendation we received on SoundCloud. Dominic Pierce started compiling his first tapes and mini-discs of music, filled with Daft Punk, Cassius, and Basement Jaxx productions in 1999. Since then, Pierce has been on a musical journey expanding on what he found fascinating within those albums. Now with a dedicated following in his home town of Calgary and a growing fan base from around the world Pierce is set for big things in 2011. “Partire” is the first tune that caught our attention. It takes you to another world. Headphone music. The world’s stresses just seem to fade away. Magical.
The second tune that we haven’t been able to keep off repeat is “Vibrations.” Definitely more upbeat but equally as infectious. More of a dance floor friendly number with a catchy female vocal. Loving the piano break in the middle. Lots of filtered goodness all around.
