Nero’s “Reaching Out” is one of the few dubstep tracks that has really peaked my interest (as reported recently). Fred Falke got his hands on the track and has crafted something special. Falke smooths things out, slows down the tempo, and adds his magical synth touch to supplement Daryl Hall’s vocal samples. Girls will flock to the dance floor when this drops. What are you waiting for? Buy this now!
About a year or so ago Russ Chimes started his “Expressway Mix” series. Along the way he’s sprinkled in new original productions, exclusive remixes, and promos. Today he shared the fourth installment which doesn’t disappoint. The intro is killer.
One of our favorite Frenchmen, Sébastien Tellier, has a new album coming out entitled “My God Is Blue.” Today (via label Record Makers) he shares a look into what is to come when the release hits stores and the web April 16th. Below is a clip from the forthcoming video for the lead single “Pepito Bleu.” Looks magical. Stay tuned for more.
Today was the last day for the public to explore Los Angeles street artist Mr. Brainwash‘s crowd-sourced urban art exhibit, “Art Show 2011.” The back story is that Mr. Brainwash (Thierry Guetta) came across the abandoned building some time ago and had a vision of transforming the blank canvas into a street art wonderland. After many months of coordination with the city government he received the ok to push forward and invited local artists of all ages to come in and add their work to the space. Word is that the building is now going to be demolished now that the exhibit is over. In this short documentary, Guetta walks us through his vision and the effort it took to make it a reality.
First week into the new year and already a stellar remix to share with you. Cassius holds a special place in my heart as an integral part of the ‘French touch’ movement in the 90′s. I want to say that 2002′s “The Sound Of Violence” was a bit of a cross-over. Not in the sense of today’s hip-hop/dance mesh-mash, but it reached an audience outside of us bloggers and DJ’s. Switzerland’s Show Your Shoe has taken this classic and taken it to a tropical locale. This one goes down smooth. Download for free here.
