It has both a CD mechanism and USB capabilities, perhaps even an internal hard drive. It has an LED display and a color screen. What is it? Well…it looks to be the newest CDJ product from Pioneer. Usually tight lipped about new product releases, they have taken a different approach this time around. Pioneer Pro DJ Media created a series of short video testimonials by “superstar” DJ’s to build some buzz. Intrigued?

Scissor Sisters‘ guitarist Del Marquis took time to knock out four solo EP’s that are all accompanied by impressive remixes. The fourth and final EP in the series, “Runaround” is released through Embryoroom Records on September the 22nd. Louis La Roches’ ‘In 1995′ rub of the single “Runaround” is a truly inspired interpretation. The use of the piano sample from the seminal Jimi Polo classic “Better Days” gives the tune a sense of nostalgia. Goes down smooth every time.

Things have been kind of quiet at camp Dubsided as of late. Looks like Dave Taylor and company have found a gem here that could turn things around. Sweden’s Savage Skulls debut EP, “Bumps,” is equal parts club, fidget, liquid, ragga, and rave. Very nice.
