The official music video for Michele Balduzzi’s (aka Phonat) “Set Me Free” couldn’t be a more fitting compliment to this tune. Directed by Rocco Pezzella from Two Things, is an exercise in nu retro goodness. Try getting this infectious little number out of your head for a couple of days after giving it a listen. 80s-styled vocals, glitchy, filtered, robot rock riffs, with pop sensibility.

Australia’s Stereosonic sees a star-studded line-up with further additions to be announced in the coming months. From Canadian mouse and all-round live festival favourite Deadmau5, to Sweden’s seminal hit machine Axwell, Stereosonic this year presents its biggest lineup to date. Whilst Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne dates stay in current venues, Brisbane gets a facelift and moves to the prestigious Eagle Farm Racecourse.

There was some back and forth on whether or not some of the material was authentic but its now been confirmed that the “Fix Your Accent” EP is indeed Fake Blood and will be released on Herves’ Cheap Thrills label (September 1). Mr. Touche has injected a good amount of funky disco house into this release in the same vein of the new Duck Sauce (A-Trak & Armand Van Helden) material. We approve.

Talented DJ, producer, and probably one of the nicest people in dance music. Miami’s Lazaro Casanova is coming to San Diego this Friday. Not to be missed.

Sold out event with one of the biggest line ups in some time completely falls to pieces after kids start tumbling over the balcony due to lack of crowd management. Details are still coming in but the event was indeed shut down by police and fire departments.
This disturbing video shows the kids on the second level falling (some jumping) off the second level balcony onto the main floor.
A message was posted early this morning on the HARD website:
Dear Los Angeles,
We are terribly sorry. Inglewood PD made the decision to shut down the event tonight much to our astonishment and yours. There are many questions to answer; rest assured you will not be left hanging. Please check back soon. The show must go on…
And then this from HARD promoter Gary Richards’ Twitter account, @destructohard: “Full refund will be made available for those who purchased tickets to HARD SUMMER more info coming ASAP. @HARDFEST”
Its a shame that this event fell through. We hope that all who attended got out ok and nobody was seriously injured.
