Hotlanta’s Ashley Jones (Treasure Fingers) is making quite a name for himself these days. Check out the recent Q&A he did with Killabeez where he chats about his studio setup, upcoming plans and more. Looking forward to seeing how the live show he mentions materializes after his full length hits the streets. In the meantime, here is a remix he supposedly knocked out on a recent flight for Diamond Cut’s cover of Womack & Womack’s “Teardrops” to wet your appetite.
Diamond Cut - Teardrops (Treasure Fingers Filter Disco Edit)
DJ Atrak has made a pretty seamless transition into the dance music from his hip hop/turntablism upbringing. The new indie label he started with Nick Catchdubs (Fool’s Gold) is on the rise with acts like Treasure Fingers and LA Riots in high demand on the remix and DJ circuit. Doesn’t hurt being pals with Kanye West. Atrak linked up with house-meister Laidback Luke and together they spawned “Shake It Down.” Produced in just four hours?! We hear Luke knocks out new productions and remixes in record time. The tune has gotten some significant play in recent months and now gets its official release on Fool’s Gold with a remix from none other than the legendary DJ Sneak.
Here is some feedback from some of the big names canning this track:
“Guaranteed to shake any room to its deepest foundations.” - Erol Alkan
“A complete monster… really massive. It’s like a ‘get out of jail free’ track.” - Tiga
“The best track of the year, ‘Shake It Down’ is my favorite club music. My secret weapon for the 6 last months.” - Brodinski
“This record doesn’t sound new or old, it just feels like dancin!” - Feadz
“Best Hip-Hop/Techno collaboration since Mel Gibson and Danny Glover in Lethal Weapon 2. Makes me wanna be Joe Pesci to three-peat.” - DJ Mehdi
Treasure Fingers was kind enough to give us the heads up on the recent official release of “Cross The Dancefloor” on Fool’s Gold Records with remixes from Curses!, Laidback Luke, Chromeo, and Lifelike. You can pick it up at iTunes, Beatport, Juno, and Turntable Lab. The pre-release has been a staple for us for some time now but this newly mixed and mastered version is top notch. We got the thumbs up to post the Lifelike remix which is excellent. He is on a plane as we speak to Australia for a short stint of DJ gigs. If you are out in that part of the world, make sure you go support. Enjoy the freebie and make sure you buy the full release!

In a freak accident at a top secret laboratory the DNA of Daft Punk and Prince were combined. Interestingly enough, the result was a tall bearded white man appropriately named Treasure Fingers. Treasure Fingers is actually one of a couple projects that Ashley Jones uses to express his love for all things electronic. He dabbles in hip hop, drum & bass (as part of Evol Intent), idm, downtempo, and more. Based in Atlanta, Georgia and recently signed to A-Trak and Nick Catchdub’sFools Gold label, Treasure Fingers is a name that you will be hearing often in 08. He is currently on the road DJing extensively in February and March.
