If you are in or near LA this would be a great way to spend your Tuesday night (in our opinion). Alan Braxe is making an appearance. His sound is taking a new direction but cant imagine him not dropping classic french house music bombs throughout his mix. If anyone is attending and can do a decent recording, we will post it for all to enjoy on their iPods for months to come.

We are eagerly awaiting the new Basement Jaxx full length that is due later this year. Simon and Felix recently secured a residency at the legendary club Pacha in Ibiza for the summer and a couple of projects are seeing the light of day now. They have co-written and produced a song for 80’s icon Cindy Lauper. Yes, kind of random but you never know. Could be a banger. The track is entitled “Rocking Chair” and will be on her new album released in May. The Jaxx also did a remix for label mate Adele. The tune is called “Cold Shoulder” and has been getting some play on Radio 1 recently.
In order to satisfy our Jaxx addiction, at least temporarily, we came across a solid remix of “Rendez Vu” by the House Moguls. You may remember them from their remix of Daft Punk’s “One More Time.” MSTRKRFT dubbed it as “the best Daft Punk remix ever.” We dont necessarily agree, but it is a great rework of the track non the less.

Lots of discussion (both positive and negative) regarding Sebastian’s long awaited EP on Ed Banger. The DJ community has been buzzing the past couple of weeks discussing its pro’s and con’s. This guy definitely has some heavy metal in his blood. His production and remix work has always had a darker feel to it but its gotten a bit heavier on this one. Our favorite is a track called “Momy”. Its the most “DJ friendly” track on the EP in our opinion. Take a listen and buy the entire thing so you can judge for yourself.
