Recent interview with MSTRKRFT where they talk about their influences, process, and remixing.

We are eagerly awaiting the new Basement Jaxx full length that is due later this year. Simon and Felix recently secured a residency at the legendary club Pacha in Ibiza for the summer and a couple of projects are seeing the light of day now. They have co-written and produced a song for 80’s icon Cindy Lauper. Yes, kind of random but you never know. Could be a banger. The track is entitled “Rocking Chair” and will be on her new album released in May. The Jaxx also did a remix for label mate Adele. The tune is called “Cold Shoulder” and has been getting some play on Radio 1 recently.

In order to satisfy our Jaxx addiction, at least temporarily, we came across a solid remix of “Rendez Vu” by the House Moguls. You may remember them from their remix of Daft Punk’s “One More Time.” MSTRKRFT dubbed it as “the best Daft Punk remix ever.” We dont necessarily agree, but it is a great rework of the track non the less.

MSTRKRFT’s new single “Bounce” will be released tomorrow on Dim Mak Records. Bounce is a electro stomper with vocals from N.O.R.E.. More exciting to us is the b-side “VUVUVU.” This is a track that we noted a few months ago and is going to destroy sound systems across the globe this summer. Its a monster!
