“Great DJ” is a catchy tune which is making its way onto many charts these days. The single hit the streets on March 3rd on CD/limited edition 7″ and digital download.

Here is a video of the duo performing the track on British television:

Calvin Harris has taken the track and made it even more dance floor friendly.

Are you ready for a Drum Buddy solo?

Mr. Quintron

There are lots of folks out there who claim to be musical innovators.  A bunch that have even created their own genre of music.  Sure, the New Orleans based duo Quintron and Miss Pussycat play their own unique brand of beats they’ve dubbed “Swamp Tech”.  But they’ve taken it two steps further.  First there is Miss Pussycat’s puppet show.  Not far enough?  No problem.  Mr. Quintron is also the inventor of his own instrument called a drum buddy.  It’s one thing to be weird, but it’s another thing entirely to be so good at it.  Their stuff is top notch.  Best of all, they are currently on tour.  Don’t miss the mayhem.

David Byrne

David Byrne - Uh OhMost people know David Byrne as the singer from the Talking Heads, but I also love a lot of his solo stuff.  He’s at his best when he’s mixing his interest in world music with some catchy, goofy pop, and his solo effort, “Uh Oh,” is full of gems.  While there are a couple of “hits” like “Girls On My Mind” and “The Cowboy Mambo,” it’s songs like the transgender anthem “Now I’m Your Mom” and “Something Ain’t Right” that keep this album in my rotation all of these years later.
