The Basement Jaxx gave house music a well deserved kick in the ass back in 1999 with the release of their debut LP “Remedy.” The “Miracles Keep On Playin” version of the title track “Red Alert” is one of the top house tunes all all time in our opinion. It was released as the B side to the “Rendez Vu” single. This tune continues to be relevant on the dance floor. Timeless. Jaxx your mutha f*ing body!

Modjo - What I Mean (The Crayon Mix)

Time for some history. There have been some defining moments in house music in the past decade. Many of them came out of the “french touch” era. The one off project that was Modjo……. Such a shame that it ended after only one LP. The most recognized single off the record was of course “Lady (Hear Me Tonight).” Every woman within a city block will migrate to the dance floor when played. But it didnt stop there. “What I Mean,” “Chillin,” and “No More Tears” were also standout tracks that all received a lot of attention and fantastic remixes. In particular, Aloud’s “The Crayon” mix of “What I Mean” made a lasting impression on us.

Its great to see Sinden make the trek all the way out to southern California. I have a feeling that he is going to be minus The Count for this trip unfortunately. Prove us wrong Herve!! Quite an impressive lineup for this next Scion House Party. Drop the Lime and Acid Girls will be doing their thing as openers.
