A little something from the IHEARTCOMIX crew with a Halloween vibe. New single from New York’s Designer Drugs. Was a bit skeptical at first but after a couple of listens this one grows on you. You be the judge. Let us know what you think. Cheers.
Some pretty exciting news coming out of the Serato and Ableton camps. Seems that they have been feeling the pressure from Traktor and are going to be integrating their products to create the ultimate digital DJ tool. Excited to see how this turns out.
As we have highlighted many times previous, Herve is a music production machine. You would be hard pressed to find a time in the past couple of years where he didnt have multiple solo and collaborative projects selling in the shops. The “fidget” naming convention does not apply. That was a term that Jesse Rose made up long ago when he, Switch, and Trevor Loveys first started putting out records in the early days of Dubsided. Herve’s music cant be pinned down to a single genre. This time around he has linked up with none other than Kissy Sell Out. Kissy isnt doing to bad for himself either. More on that soon.
Big shout out to the good folks at Fabric. We were blessed with the latest and greatest from Stanton Warriors. Whether or not you are a big break beat fan, its hard not to respect this mix. Le Castle Vania sent us over a choice tune that he has been dropping in his sets recently. This one takes a familiar Smashing Pumpkins sample and gives it a kick in the ass. A nice follow up to the monster “Messiah” collaboration between he and Computer Club that we love so much. Looking forward to new material from his Always Never and So Sweet indie labels in the coming months.
A big thank you to the good folks at SoundCloud for providing us with a dropbox for artist/label submissions. You will see it just to the right, at the top of the sidebar. This is a new (more convenient) way for you to submit music to us for review. Keep the music coming!! Cheers.
The folks at JazzMutant received some priceless advertising when Daft Punk joined Kanye West during the 50th Grammy Awards to perform “Stronger.” They appeared on stage in their pyramid with four Lemurs. Seems that Justice have also incorporated the Lemur’s into their live show. The backbone of their setup consists of three synchronized Lemurs plugged into Ableton Live.
The Canadian duo formerly known as VNDLSM are now going by the name of AutoErotique. With this change, comes some eagerly awaited new material. “Gladiator” should give you a good idea of what they are about. Looking forward to catching these guys on tour sometime soon. Give the tune a listen and let us know what you think.
