The World Is Daft

Since its been confirmed that there will be no official Alive 2007 DVD the legions of robot fans are banning together to take matters into their own hands. “The World Is Daft” is to be a full length film of the Bercy, Paris homecoming gig. This is the same performance where they recorded the show for the Alive 2007 CD. The editors are piecing together bits of fan filmed footage to create a seamless film of the entire performance including the glow in the dark encore that we all love. The footage is synced to the live audio recording to ensure proper sound quality. Although it may make some a bit motion sick, we believe this will be in high demand once its complete. Stay tuned….

Hello,
Thanks for the post. Always a pleasure.
The project is moving forward. A new version of the official website will come soon.
There are still 5 remaining video clips to release and then I’ll focus on the production of the full DVD and Bonus DVD that will be freely available for download on June 14th (1 year annivesary of the Bercy show).
Stay tuned !

sorry to spam your site, couldn’t find anywhere to get in touch with ‘the world is daft’ people.
Very excited about the project, an amazing idea and amazing that you’ve pulled it off. Just worried about the editing, Cutting so frequently is disorientating and cutting to the beat a lot of the time gets really tiring. I want to be able to watch the footage without the footage trying to mirror the beats or give me a seizure, which other live gig videos don’t do. Cutting so regular distroys a sense of place, atmosphere or occasion and makes it hard to watch. Just my 2 cents. Sorry to come across so negative like, really impressed with the concept and the fact you’ve manage to put it together, its a canny achievement. Looking forward to the final release.

Hello,
I fully understand your feelings.
The base of my work was not to do a lot of cutting for every videos clips like you could have watched in the official video clip released by the Daft.
Some of the vids are not very cutted if you look at them and when the full DVD will come out and you’ll watch the entire show it will be like a wave with moments with lots of dynamics and cutted scenes and moments cooler.
Hope it will give you more good sensation watching the entire set.
