First, a big thank you to the good folks at Columbia Records and Sony BMG for sending us a ton of music recently. We are still going threw it all. Keep it comin! One of the highlights thus far has been the remix that Soulwax did for the movie “21.” They took a Rolling Stones classic and gave it an upgrade. They were allowed to use the original master tapes; an honor only granted to Fatboy Slim and N.E.R.D. previously.Although its a lower tempo mix, its still going to get people moving on the dance floor.

In other Soulwax news… their highly anticipated film / documentary “Part of the Weekend Never Dies” will have its premiere at the Ether Festival at the Royal Festival Hall in London on April 24th. Director Saam Farahmand filmed Soulwax on their recent international dates, capturing all the excitement, chaos and humor of the world tour . 120 shows were filmed with one camera in Europe, Japan, US, Latin America and Australia. This resulted in 2 films; a live music film and a documentary which includes 2manydj’s, Soulwax Nite Versions and features James Murphy, Nancy Whang, Erol Alkan, Tiga, Justice, Busy P, So-Me, Peaches, Kitsuné, Klaxons and many more in behind the scenes footage, interviews and LOTS of music.

MSTRKRFT’s new single “Bounce” will be released tomorrow on Dim Mak Records. Bounce is a electro stomper with vocals from N.O.R.E.. More exciting to us is the b-side “VUVUVU.” This is a track that we noted a few months ago and is going to destroy sound systems across the globe this summer. Its a monster! You can purchase digital downloads of both of these tracks on iTunes and at Amazon on April 1.

XLR8R TV was able to get Dave Taylor to sit down for a couple of beers and chat for a bit. Very much looking forward to the full length Solid Groove project to be released on Dubsided (hopefully this year). He has set up shop in LA so we are hoping he will do some DJ dates this year in our neck of the woods.

This is pretty sweet. A sign that the day you can load up Pro Tools or Ableton Live on your phone and produce tracks isnt too far off. Technologic.

Representing San Diego and southern California, the Jabbawokeez took the title of “America’s Best Dance Crew” tonight. Congrats fellas! Well done. Hopefully they will have you back to defend your title. Byterz will be eaten!!!

Since its been confirmed that there will be no official Alive 2007 DVD the legions of robot fans are banning together to take matters into their own hands. “The World Is Daft” is to be a full length film of the Bercy, Paris homecoming gig. This is the same performance where they recorded the show for the Alive 2007 CD. The editors are piecing together bits of fan filmed footage to create a seamless film of the entire performance including the glow in the dark encore that we all love. The footage is synced to the live audio recording to ensure proper sound quality. Although it may make some a bit motion sick, we believe this will be in high demand once its complete. Stay tuned….

Its one of the most focused electronic music blogs on the web.
