Paul Mawhinney was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. Over the years he has amassed what has become the world’s largest record collection. Due to health issues and a struggling record industry Paul is being forced to sell his collection. The entire library of music he has is estimated to be worth $50 million. Current asking price is $3 million. We hope that this collection is able to stay in tact and is eventually purchased by a serious musicologist.
Happy holidays everyone. A gift to all of you from Hollertronix co-founder, message board creator, and sometime M.I.A. tour DJ Low Budget to get you in the spirit. The male pop vocalist all star team is represented here (Michael McDonald, Paul McCartney, Donald Fagen, Daryl Hall, Christopher Cross). Goodness from start to finish. If you are in San Fransisco for NYE we highly recommend you go see him play at Rickshaw Stop. Enjoy!

Le Castle Vania was kind enough to shoot over his newest remix. This time he takes on Fukkk Offf’s “Rave is King.” Definitely a big room tune that will get people sweating on the dance floor. Give it a listen and let us know what you think!
Fakeblood is the truth. A masterful demonstration of DJ skill and song selection in his first visit to southern California. Rocking four decks (2 CDJs and Serato on turntables) is no small task. Very impressive to say the least. As you can see from the videos below, Mr. Touche had everyone (including a number of LA DJ/producers) trainspotting. A big thank you again to the great Glenjamn for the documentation.
Mnuvrs Mixtape Vault is attempting to continue on where the NLLR Mixtape Project left off. We are hopeful that they succeed. The newest mix in the series comes from Louis La Roché. Although from the UK, you will find that his sound is of the disco-filtered vibe that France laid claim to back in the 90’s. His work is getting a significant amount of airplay on BBC Radio 1 in the past few weeks, with tracks being played on both ‘In New DJ’s We Trust‘ and the ‘Kissy Sell Out Show‘. Although this is a short mix it will give you a taste of what is to come from this exciting young producer. There will be a new Louis La Roché EP entitled ‘Me & Her’ available to buy in early 2009 on Ever After Records. Stay tuned!
Here is an interview Jaymo did with La Roché after a set at Moda:

02 - Phonat featuring Super Mal - Pixelated

09 - Xinobi - Valsa In Nova Jersey
10 - The Beatles - I Am A Walrus (Louis Edit)
A big thank you goes out to our friends at 88 Days and Aerodynamite for the heads up on this extensive collection of recordings. Some classic material here for your listening enjoyment.
Tis’ the season of giving and we are diving into the archives to share some gems between now and the end of the year. We’re going to start it off with a bang! This could very well could be the best Daft Punk remix to date. A bold statement indeed, but give it a listen and you will be hard pressed to disagree. It flew under the radar for most and was only shared amongst a few blogs and forums since its limited edition white label release back in early 2006. The Adjuster (Johan Rundqvist) of Sweden continues to produce for various labels so make sure to check out his other productions.
Burns is quickly becoming someone to look out for in 2009. Breastfed Records (Mylo and Linus Loves label) has recently added this young producer to their roster. His bootleg “Make Love” has been played multiple times on Annie Mac’sMashup show and making its way into the playlists of many big name DJs. If you happen to be lucky enough to be in Sydney, Australia on new year’s eve we recommend you take advantage of the chance to see him play alongside Calvin Harris, Miami Horror, and Boys Noize at the massive Harbour Party. In the meantime, give the tune a listen and let us know what you think.

Justice live in Manchester for The Chibuku Party. A clever mix of old and new. Sure to get your weekend holiday party action started on the right foot. Cheers!
DJ Atrak has made a pretty seamless transition into the dance music from his hip hop/turntablism upbringing. The new indie label he started with Nick Catchdubs (Fool’s Gold) is on the rise with acts like Treasure Fingers and LA Riots in high demand on the remix and DJ circuit. Doesn’t hurt being pals with Kanye West. Atrak linked up with house-meister Laidback Luke and together they spawned “Shake It Down.” Produced in just four hours?! We hear Luke knocks out new productions and remixes in record time. The tune has gotten some significant play in recent months and now gets its official release on Fool’s Gold with a remix from none other than the legendary DJ Sneak.
Here is some feedback from some of the big names canning this track:

“The best track of the year, ‘Shake It Down’ is my favorite club music. My secret weapon for the 6 last months.” - Brodinski
“This record doesn’t sound new or old, it just feels like dancin!” - Feadz
“Best Hip-Hop/Techno collaboration since Mel Gibson and Danny Glover in Lethal Weapon 2. Makes me wanna be Joe Pesci to three-peat.” - DJ Mehdi
