MSTRKRFT was in LA recently to celebrate/promote their cover story in BPM Magazine. BPM in partnership with Puma put on the event at the Roxy in LA. Fellow blogger and DJ Lazaro Casanova and Dim Mak Label boss Steve Aoki opened up for the Canadian duo. Its cool to see that MSTRKRFT is getting some love out here. Their production and remix work has been solid over the past couple of years. Lots of buzz lately regarding their recent remix of Justice’s D.A.N.C.E which they threw in the mix at their Coachella gig. There is a low quality mp3 of it bouncing around right now. Shouldnt be too hard to find if you want to preview it before it gets a proper release.

One a side note, its crazy to see how quickly the DJ community has adopted Serato Scratch Live! All these guys were using it.

New Justice album promos were divied out recently. I was lucky enough to get a copy (although a rip at 192 but its a preview before I buy it so I cant complain). It really exceeded my expectations. Every tune is solid! Interested to see the notes on where all the samples came from. Phantom was released a couple of months ago as a teaser for the full length and recieved a warm reception from DJs. Once the tracklisting for the album was published showing a new version of the track, I have been eagerly awaiting to hear what it would sound like. So here it is for your listening pleasure. Busy P and the Ed Banger crew are giving us electronic music fans something to be excited about again. Much respect to Justice, Mr. Flash, So Me, Sebastian, Mr. Oizo (who recently joined the label), Crazy Baldhead, Vicarious Bliss, Uffie, and DJ Mehdi.

Justice - Phantom pt. II

Once again, France reigned supreme at Coachella this year. Although their show is still a DJ set, and they weren’t a headliner, Justice still made an impact and people are talking. Daft Punk is a tough act to follow but as you can see from the picture above, its a unified front. Really excited about seeing Daft Punk again next month in LA.

The eagle has landed! Been waiting for this one for quite some time now as you can see here. Mr. Oizo’s forthcoming EP entitled Transexual will be released on 5/6/07 in which this track is a highlight. Its a rework of a 1979 disco track “Do It At The Disco” by Gary’s Gang. About half way in the sax loop kicks in. This tune will be destroying dancefloors across the globe this summer. Enjoy!
