Bringin it back for all the true french house headz!  Jess & Crabbe were killin it back in the day.  I used to eagerly await the new releases from Fiat Lux.  Their sound was a blend of house, ragga, hip hop, 80’s, and electro.  I think they are both still producing independently of each other.  This track is off the Big Booya EP which Norman “Fatboy Slim” Cook has recently remixed and re-released on his Southern Fried label.  Thanks goes out to the Fathertronix crew for this.  Cheers!

Tom Jenkinson is not a DJ.  He is a rediculously talented bassist and musician.  As staples of the Warp Records roster, Squarepusher and Aphex Twin have continued to keep us music geeks guessing.  Interviewed recently on BBC2’s The Culture Show, Jenkinson talks about his background and craft.  Gotta say, I was impressed that BBC was able to get him to sit down for a TV interview.  Looks like I am not the only one….The intro to the show is great!  Andre 3000 from Outkast once again proves how cool he really is by talking about his admiration for Squarepusher.  Good stuff!

Squarepusher on BBC2’s The Culture Show

Speakerjunk are Trevor Loveys and Joshua “Herve” Harvey.  Along with producers like Switch, Sinden, and Jesse Rose, Speakerjunk is helping to push the house genre forward.  The wobbly bass lines and jackin beats sound amazing on a proper sound system.  Basement Jaxx tagged them to remix the latest single from Crazy Itch Radio “Take Me Back to Your House.”  And they did not dissapoint.  Enjoy!

Sound quality on this is pretty shite but the mix is still brilliant.  Basement Jaxx did another Mini Mix for Annie Mac’s show on Radio 1 last Friday.  Felix probably threw this thing together in like 30 minutes. Couple of Switch gems, track or two from Crazy Itch, and even a bit of Bmore at the end.  Jaxx your body!!

New York quartet, The Rapture have a new record out that has given the indie hipster crowd something to cheer about again.  Fan of the older stuff and some of the new tracks are growing on me.  The remixes are now starting to flood in.  Two stand out thus far.  One comes from our boy Sebastian and the other from Simian Mobile Disco.
