Whether or not you appreciate techno, it’s place in the foundation of dance and electronic music is undeniable. From it’s origins in Detroit, the sound moved overseas and was celebrated by a reunited German crowd in the basement of a bombed out department store in (the former) east Berlin. This was Tresor. In the years that followed, Berlin became an electronic capital and Tresor was it’s central nervous system. “SubBerlin” retraces the impact of Berlin’s club culture and the sounds coming out of the Tresor basement.
