Ibiza International Music Summit

Music: Ibiza International Music Summit Wrap-Up

Attending the Ibiza International Music Summit is on my personal ‘must do’ list for next year as I’ve not had the chance to make the trip since it started. The speakers and sessions get better and better each year. Last week the movers and shakers in the world of dance music met once again on the island of Ibiza to discuss past, present, and future. Interestingly enough, Daft Punk was a hot topic again. Last year it was their work on the TRON movie score that had the industry buzzing, this year it’s talk of their forthcoming album. Two of the conference’s speakers made reference to their collaborations with the robots which set the internet on fire. A couple of months back, legendary musician and producer Nile Rodgers spoke of his sessions with Daft Punk out in Los Angeles. Rogers held back from elaborating on the collaboration but to quote the man himself, “that shit is amazing!” Nuff said. In another exclusive rare interview, synthesizer pioneer Giorgio Moroder also admitted to working with Thomas and Guy-Man. Amazing!

Check out these great daily wrap-up videos from each day of the conference. Will post any videos of individual sessions as they are posted.

Opening day featuring James Barton from Cream, Danny Tenaglia, Tatiana Simonian from Twitter, Will Hope from Spotify.

Second day featuring Paul Oakenfold on Hollywood, Francois Kevorkian, Diplo on branding, Patrick Moxey (Ultra Records), Sister Bliss, and “Ibiza the year of change” with the music directors of Ushuaia, Space, Pacha and Amnesia.

Third day featuring Nile Rodgers iconic producer, world exclusive rare interview with Giorgio Moroder synthesizer pioneer, Luciano keynote interview, Loco Dice one on one with Carl Cox, a focus on women in the electronic music world and the emerging market focus on India.

As an extra special treat, here’s a clip from Disclosure‘s performance at the conference festival with Jessie Ware.
