As a budding DJ and bedroom producer in South West England, Julio Bashmore began crafting house tracks with an old computer and a copy of Reason. Influenced by his love for bass music, hip-hop, and classic French house records from Daft Punk and Cassius, Bashmore honed in on a sound that has lead to some exciting opportunities as of late. Since his first release on Claude VonStroke’s bass friendly label Dirtybird a couple of years back, Mr. Bashmore’s star has risen quickly in the electronic music world. Between the production work, remixes, DJ dates around the world, and hosting duties for Radio 1′s ‘In New DJs We Trust‘ he has somehow found time to start a new label called Broadwalk Records. “Au Seve” is the first release (due out on July 2) and if this is any sign of what is to come, this new venture has a bright future ahead. Jackin’ house music with favor to low end frequencies and high-hat stabs. Very much looking forward to hearing this on a proper sound system.
