So the story goes that Soma Records unearthed an unreleased Daft Punk tune from 1994 called ‘Drive‘ while doing the research for their forthcoming 20th anniversary compilation. It was submitted to the label along with the classic ‘Rollin’ And Scratchin‘ which was of course eventually released while ‘Drive’ was shelved for a later date. This is not the happy go lucky filtered disco house stuff one may expect if you haven’t been exposed to their pre ‘Homework‘ material. This is some serious pumping techno. Not for the faint of heart. Look for the compilation entitled ‘Soma Records: 20 Years‘ on September 19th.
