I love my hometown. San Diego is quite a magical place. Our friends from Italy, Fare Soldi as well as our comrade from Germany, Justin Faust, have recently deemed San Diego one of their favorite places to play since recent gigs here. With local venues like U-31 and Voyeur booking talent from all over the globe, our fine city is making a name for itself as a thriving North American market.
The “backyard boogie down,” also known as the Do-Over, took notice and coordinated an event in our hood at one of my favorite spots, El Camino. For those of you not familiar, the Do-Over is celebrating seven years strong in Los Angeles (our neighbor to the north). Some of the most skilled DJ’s on the planet have played these parties. Names like DJ AM, DJ Jazzy Jeff, A-Trak, Juan Maclean, Diplo, Craze, Stretch Armstrong, and Cosmo Baker should give you an idea of the caliber of DJ that gets invited to play.
Check the video recap of the San Diego event below. We hope this is the first of many to come.
